Hello friends!
One of the things I really miss right now is going to workshops and conferences and meeting new people. Over the past few months I've been to some fun online events, and for the past 7 years I've been running an online interactive salon... so, I've decided to partner with a bunch of my friends and research students and host a full day playdate! And you are invited!
What does that mean?
On Friday, August 14 from 9 am-5 pm Central you are invited to participate in a day of:
- hands-on workshops,
- amazing short guest lectures (I can not wait to share the speaker list with you! So many incredible people have agreed to present!),
- chances to interact with other guests.
The theme of the day is Wonder, and the topics you will hear about (and partake in) will we diverse. We have talks planned on marine biology, lollipops, design and disability, music, and more.
Want to participate?
- Attend: Attendance is free. Registration page is coming soon. Follow me on twitter (@amptMN) for updates. When we post the registration page you will also be able to select your workshops and break out sessions.
- Lead a Workshop: A play date isn't just about listening... it's also about doing! You will have a variety of options for 30 minute workshops during the day. These will range from cooking to improv to crafts, from math puzzles to story circles.. We are still looking for volunteers who have ideas for 30 minute workshops they would like to lead. If we choose your workshop, you will be assigned tech support and a researcher from the Playful Learning Lab to help you with logistics!
- Propose a discussion room topic: We will be having discussion break out rooms around specific topics. If you have an idea for something you'd like to discuss with others, please send us your idea! Discussion groups will be 30 minutes long.
Logistics:
- Where: online. We will be using Zoom as our platform
- When: 9:00 am- 5:00 pm Central. I strongly recommend that you plan on attending for the entire day.
